Katie Semmer

Katie Semmer, from Fort Myers Beach, FL, is in her senior year here at Embry-Riddle as an Aviation Business Administration major with a minor in Communications. Before transferring to ERAU in 2007, Katie was an Advertising major at the University of Miami but decided to focus her studies in Aviation. Studying to achieve a career in the Aviation industry, she has been involved in many groups and organization on campus including Delta Mu Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, Touch-N-Go Productions, SGA Representative Board, and Task Force One. Katie also completed a summer internship with Boeing in supplier management n the 787 program and plans to graduate this Fall.

Katie first served on the SGA in the Fall semester of 2008 as a Student Representative for the College of business. While on this board she was a member of the Constitution Committee, Promotions Committee, and liaison for Task Force One. This year Katie currently maintains this position of the SGA Director of External affairs. She is working to improve the relationship of our campus to the outside community and create new projects to improve the well-being of every student at Embry-Riddle. Some of her goals for the year include consolidating DB Communication emails into a more effective and efficient format, designing promotional and operational materials for the SGA, working with Daytona Beach Community officials and organizations, and overseeing the layout of the Avion SGA page each week.
