President’s Welcome

Hello and welcome to Embry-Riddle! I hope that you are becoming settled into the campus and are enjoying your days of campus life. I know through my three years here at Embry-Riddle that every day is filled with classes, clubs, sports, ROTC and work, but I encourage each of you to think about becoming involved with the ERAU Student Government Association (SGA).

The SGA has unique opportunities for every student to become involved on campus as described in this magazine. The SGA included the Student Representative Board (SRB), the Student Finance Board (SFB) and the Student Court which are known as the branches of SGA. But additionally, SGA includes three Divisions: Eagles FM, The Avion, and Tough-N-Go. You will be able to find useful information on each of these components of the SGA in the pages following. The SGA has many opportunities for first year students to become involved. Task Force One serves as a first year advisory council providing not only a long between the SGA and its Divisions, but hosting events and parties for first year students. Task Force One is unique in nature as it is run entirely by first year students for first year students. There are also endless opportunities for you to become involved within the three Divisions and to participate in the day-to-day operation of the SGA through the weekly meetings listed with each branch or Division.

As you move through your time at Embry-Riddle, do not hesitate to stop by our office in the Student Center (SC-104). Feel free to voice any concerns or comments you have on the University to help the school better serve you. This is your University and no comment is too big or too small. While, in our office, do not forget to get some free SGA giveaways and a cup of coffee.

Please take a moment to review the following information carefully – there are so many opportunities for you to follow your dreams as a representative, court member, newspaper writer, DJ or event planner. Welcome to your SGA!

Regards,
Bryan Dietz
